Jakarta, Thursday, 15 May 2025 — Vanda RE Pte Ltd, a joint venture company co- owned by Gurīn Energy Pte Ltd and Gentari through Gentari International Renewables Pte Ltd, today announced the signing of a major framework supply agreement with LONGi Green Energy Technology Co Ltd, a top-tier solar technology company that is leading the world’s transition to green energy.
Under the agreement, LONGi will supply up to 1 gigawatt (GW) of high-performance solar PV modules. The panels will be deployed in Vanda RE’s utility scale solar-and- storage project in the Riau Islands, Indonesia, meeting the Indonesian government’s local content (TKDN) requirement for energy projects.
Vanda RE’s project is underpinned by 2 GWp of solar PV installed capacity and 4.4 GWh of battery storage and is part of a green economic corridor being developed between Indonesia and Singapore. Projects within the green economic corridor will incentivise leading companies like LONGi to invest in Indonesia’s clean technology supply chains and industries. This generates a positive knock-on effect for the Indonesian economy by lowering the cost of domestic renewable energy development and boosting the attractiveness of Indonesia as a destination for sectors dependent on green energy.
“We are pleased to be partnering with LONGi, a leading solar technology company, through our joint venture company Vanda RE. LONGi’s innovative work in clean energy aligns closely with Gurīn Energy’s mission to accelerate the energy transition in Asia,” said Enda Ginting, Country Manager, Indonesia of Gurīn Energy.
“This is just one of a number of agreements that Vanda RE has entered into. These partnerships strongly support Indonesia’s development as a regional clean technology hub by creating demand for Indonesian-made equipment, delivering green jobs, and facilitating foreign investment and knowledge transfer,” he added.
“We are honoured to partner with Vanda RE and Gurīn Energy on this landmark solar-plus-storage project in Indonesia’s Riau Islands, which underscores LONGi’s commitment to advancing Asia’s energy transition through cutting-edge technology,“ said Frank Zhao, President of LONGi APAC.
He continued: “This collaboration not only meets Indonesia’s TKDN requirements but also demonstrates how large-scale renewable projects can drive local industrial growth, attract green investments, and strengthen cross-border clean energy partnerships. By deploying our high-efficiency solar modules, we are proud to support Indonesia’s ambition as a regional clean tech hub while delivering sustainable, cost-competitive power to Singapore. This project sets a powerful precedent for public-private synergy in accelerating decarbonisation across ASEAN.”
